In this section are the various choices associated with most of our reproduction furniture. With so many variations to choose from you are able to cutomise your purchase to your exact requirements, making a virtually unique online furniture shopping experience.
Samples of wood, fabric and leather are available by post, allowing a more accurate representation of colours amd textures - please ask.

Woods & Wood Colours

If you would like any mahogany, yew or oak wood samples posted to you, please use our samples request page. In addition to these wood colours we also offer a colour match service free of charge! Just supply us with a reference i.e. a drawer or shelf etc from your existing furniture and we will match your new items as closely as possible.

Wood Finishes

We offer three types of finish to all our furniture:

Standard - Items are finished in house using our own blend of stains, fillers, sealers and lacquers to produce a flawless smooth satin finish. This type of finish enhances the natural grain of the wood and has good wear resistant properties. No subsequent maintenance is required such as polishing or waxing - just a dust and a periodic clean!

Antique - Items are finished in house using our unique antique effect polish. This is a labour intensive job but produces a realistic aged effect with light distressing (marked but not damaged) that really suits this type of furniture, especially with the lighter shades of each wood. The final process is performed by hand to further compliment that 'anitique' look and feel. Maintenance free finish with excellent longevity.
This finish costs slightly more than our standard finish but if it is something that may appeal to you then you will be not be dissapointed!

Antique Cream Paint - As an alternative to our regular colours and finishes we now offer our own unique antique cream paint finish. Performed in our own workshops this finish produces a wonderful smooth satin paint finish but with a slightly aged effect. We not only seal, prime and paint the wood with numerous coats but also apply lacquers which gives a pleasing depth to the finish - something not often found with painted furniture!

Handles

Unless requested, all furniture will come with standard swan neck handles fitted where applicable.

Leathers

We use thick real cow hides for all desk tops, leather chairs and sofas. These leathers are hand rubbed to reveal the colours while leaving darker shades in the creases and depressions, all adding to the fantastic antique look! Further leather colours are available, please ask.

Glazing Styles

In addition to the cut glass styles pictured here we also offer the simple and elegant bevelled edge glass.
