Marshbeck FAQs
Below you can find answers to some of the questions that customers ask us most often. Got a question you don't see here? Please get in touch.
Where is your furniture made?
The majority our reproduction and deco style furniture is designed and hand made in our own Suffolk workshops by a highly experienced team of cabinet makers and polishers. Traditional skills are mixed with modern equipment to produce consistant quality, unique design and value for money. All our wood and resin river tables are designed and handcrafted by Stuart, our managing director.
Producing furniture ourselves allows us to offer infinite options, bespoke designs and direct-to-customers prices. Items that require large scale production runs such as dining chairs are sourced from other British furniture suppliers.

Can you deliver and how is it done?
Yes, we deliver nationally using our own vans and staff to ensure you receive the best service and the best care is taken. Most of furniture is fully assembled and un-packaged so each piece is carefully blanket-wrapped, not stacked and delivered direct from our workshops to your home.
For smaller items and accessories, we use reliable couriers for home delivery

How long does it take to make and deliver?
Reproduction and deco furniture take us around 10-12 weeks to make and polish to your requested specifications. We then aim to deliver within two weeks of completion depending on your location - more remote areas may take a little longer as we can not cover every area every week. We give delivery date advice one week in advance and offer a two hour delivery window. For bespoke furniture, please allow an extra 2 weeks.
River Table lead times are currently around 10-12 weeks
For our modern outsourced ranges, delivery is usually 4-6 weeks.
Most of our accessories are in stock and are delivered in 3-5 working days.

Can I pay just a deposit?
Yes! We try very hard to make our customers feel comfortable with shopping online with us. For furniture sales, we only require a 50% deposit and the balance can paid to our driver on delivery once you have seen and approved the furniture (Cash or cheque - card payments and transfers need to be paid slightly prior to delivery).
What if I change my mind when the furniture arrives?
Providing the furniture is returned on the delivery vehicle, a full refund will be issued with no quibble. If we have to return to collect, the standard delivery charge to your area will apply.

What is your furniture made from?
This question is hard to fully answer without speaking of specific items but the general rules are:
Most of our reproduction furniture is made using a variety of materials, all selected to be the most appropriate for each component. We use a combination of solid wood and real wood veneers to be able to produce furniture with both a solid structure and a highly decorative look.
Where the use of decorative inlays and veneers are employed we apply these to high grade moisture resistant fibre board, ensuring no warping, twisting or cracking of the wood veneer and polish can occur. We want our furniture to last a lifetime and ensure it is suitable for modern centrally heated homes where heat and humidity levels can rapidly change.
We only use legally sourced wood from reputable companies.
Our contemporary ranges feature such a variation of woods and materials, it is best to ask us about specific items or ranges
Our River tables are made using mostly indigenous, sustainably sourced timber with an epoxy resin infill.

Can you make bespoke furniture?
Yes! Around 90% of furniture we make is bespoke in some way! This may be as simple as colour matching to your existing furniture or as far as working with you on a completely bespoke design.
